2021.10.21 01:10 Impossible-Cry-495 What the hell does it mean to show emotion?
My therapist says she sees it alot in the military, where people shut off their emotions and that I need to learn to show mine.
What does that even mean?

2021.10.21 01:10 Winterfresh00 Editors swindled us
After all the shit that went down tonight, why didn’t we see more of the fight/aftermath? Ryan said it lasted hours but all we got was 10-15 minutes. The whole last hour of the episode should’ve been devoted to that.
But no, instead you give us Jose pretending that he was able to get himself up on that fence by himself.

2021.10.21 01:10 Prestige_Worldw1de GrubHub customers are cheap AF
I live in Silicon Valley where a shoe box of a house in a so-so area cost a million bucks and the areas I usually deliver to they are 1.5M and up. I do DD, UE and GH and GH customers are by far, and I mean by far the worst tippers. Today I've done 5 GH orders and received a total of $4 in tips. I did 6 trips on UE and received $38 in tips and on DD 2 trips with $8 in tips. I'm not complaining, per se, because the overall pay makes these deliveries still worth it, just pointing out a fact, at least in my market. What set me off was my last delivery tonight, only $25 in food but 6.3 miles to a nice neighborhood in the $2M range and there was zero tip. I got paid $15.61 ($9.69 time, $1.89 mileage, $4.03 bonus) I've never ordered from GH as a customer so I have no idea what they charge buy I'm assuming their delivery charge is a lot higher than UE and DD to be able to pay me almost $16 on a delivery. Thats my rant thx for listening lol.

2021.10.21 01:10 ubormaci Weekly "What are you reading/writing?" post; October 18. - October 24.
(Sorry for being late with this week's post)
Hello everyone on this week's fix exchange.
If you're new, here's how this works:
You can talk about either the fics you're writing (even if they're not published) and about the fics you're reading. Make sure to leave a link too, so others can check it out.
Talk about the fic! Tell us what you like, what is it that makes it shine in your eyes. That's by far the most important part.

2021.10.21 01:10 tceubank12 Family gets in car crash. Kids and catatonic mom move in with grandmother
There was this book that I read in middle school. The plot went as follows. Two kids (a girl and boy) and their parents are driving home from the park in a really bad storm. The car crashes and their dad dies, and the mother is out in a catatonic state. The kids and mom are sent to live with her mother in the Appalachian mountains. They meet a lawyer who ends up marrying the mom after she gets out of her catatonic state at the end of the book.
Thanks so much!

2021.10.21 01:10 KrabiFc Bought first car, no unlocking button. Scammed. What can I do ?
Bought my first, find a very clean and good honda civic 2010. Tried and was pretty satisfied, so brought a mecanician and then bought it. Then at home I realized there is no button to unlock all dors ??? Like how can a 2010 car can’t have this option. To open or lock the front doors I need to use the key, and for the back door, they need to be open manually by the inside. So basically there is no way someone can go out from the back seat and lock the door, unless someone lock it for the inside. Urghh I feel so stupid because I didn’t realize it on the spot, and feel scammed, good for the seller, he played it well.
I contacted Honda and some garages and many told me they can’t install a fob or it would not be worth because it’s manual and they need to install the electrical parts. What are my options ?

2021.10.21 01:10 buzwork Martin Logan Forte & Unison (amp/streamer/dsp & pre-amp/streamer/dsp) discounted, feature Anthem ARC room correction
Martin Logan looks to be blowing out their Forte & Unison amp/preamp devices, both of which feature Anthem's ARC (automatic room correction) functionality.
I picked up one of each and was very pleasantly surprised at how well they work. Both feature Airplay (first gen only) and DTS Play-Fi (not great but the last few updates have made it passable).
The Forte amp features 802.11a/b/g/n wifi, ethernet port, analog inputs, and subwoofer out with a 50wpc @ 8ohm class D amp and includes a calibrated USB microphone for Anthem's ARC Genesis windows/PC app.
The Unison preamp features 802.11a/b/g/n wifi, ethernet port, optical input, optical output, analog input pair, analog output pair, 12v trigger, calibrated USB microphone for Anthem's ARC Genesis windows/PC app.
Both also support Android and iOS mobile ARC app which uses the microphone on your mobile device for calibration. I didn't try this implementation.
Neither feature a remote control, so you'll need to control volume via Windows Play-Fi app, android via Play-Fi, or MacOS/iOS via Airplay.
I tested the Forte with a pair of Revel M105 stand mount speakers & SVS 3000 Micro subwoofer. After running the ARC Genesis room correction routine the soundstage was audibly better and the subwoofer integration was damn near perfect. The amplifier on the Forte is good but not great. A budget amp like the Loxjie A30 sounds slightly better with similar power output. At higher volumes the Forte struggles.
Next I used the Unison pre-amp connected to a Hegel H95 integrated amp via optical & used the Unison analog RCA outputs to send a signal to an SVS SB1000 subwoofer. Again, the Anthem ARC room correction routine was completed using the ARC Genesis software and there was a noticeable improvement, especially with the highpass/lowpass crossover points/slopes for the M105s and 3000 Micro. Subwoofer integration was perfect.
The Forte amp section is decent and comparable to a budget amp like the Loxjie A30 and cleaner than the front channels on my Onkyo TX-NR686 AVR up to moderate listening levels, albeit with less power.
I think the real value here is the Unison. For a plug and play room correction solution it's pretty damn good. A MiniDSP 2x4HD is comparable in price but the Unison adds Airplay & DTS Play-Fi.
A MiniDSP DDRC24 would be more than twice as much as the Unison. Dirac Live is likely better but is considerably more expensive. The Unison with ARC is a worthy budget alternative.
Anthem's ARC has been reviewed ad nauseum and is one of the best bundled room correction applications available. I haven't been able to finder a cheaper entry point into Anthem ARC than the Martin Logan Forte & Unison devices.
The Forte amplifier is great solution for a secondary system and the Airplay works great. DTS Play-Fi has a very clumsy interface but once you play with it enough to understand the terrible UI, it performs well for multi-room audio.
My understanding is that these two products are rebadged Paradigm PW Amp & PW Link devices with Airplay functionality. Both were reviewed on ASR with the PW Link getting a recommendation and the PW Amp getting the thumbs down.
Niche products with some drawbacks, the biggest being a lack of remote control, but serviceable enough to be worthy of consideration for an easy multi-room music streaming solution.
